In the 3d world there is one company that owns 90% of the market.  The late 2000’s autodesk bought Maya, 3ds max, soft image, lightwave,and mudbox.  That’s almost all of the market.  They had autocad, and like ten other programs.


Most of the post I will post will be about maya, zbrush, blender, or silo.


Silo is a cheap very fast modeling program.  If you going to start modeling. YOU SHOULD START WITH SILO.  


Blender is a open source program.  It can do about everything.  Portable too!
